Please look after this bear, Paddington is headed to the big screen #PaddingtonMovie

From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you.” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

Starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, and Nicole Kidman. Paddington will be in theaters January 16th.

Seeing Paddington brings back so many sweet memories! Both of my girls loved to be read the book, while they held onto their own stuffed Paddington bear. After enjoying the book for so long, I’m really looking forward to seeing Paddington come to life on the big screen. Only this time I’ll be sharing Paddington and his adventures with my granddaughter.

What about you? After watching the trailer above, do you think you’ll be seeing Paddington?

Our How to Train Your Dragon 2 Movie Night #DragonsInsiders #HTTYD2

A couple of weeks ago I let my readers know that we were planning a fun How to Train Your Dragon movie night. What I didn’t know to tell you was that it would be a whole week-long celebration.

First our party pack was delivered…

Inside was enough How to Train Your Dragon fun for the whole family. We also recently receive How to Train Your Dragon tattoos, toys, a hat, and a really cool Toothless mug.

We were so excited about this release that we celebrated all week long. We did dragon arts and crafts, and colored our How to Train Your Dragon coloring sheets. Then on Friday we added the digital code to our account and enjoyed the movie together as a family. The kids loved eating dinner on their How to Train Your Dragon plates, napkins and cups. The week long celebration was fun, but nothing beats time spent together for a family movie night.

The movie was fantastic! We watched it via Digital HD, and the animation was truly stunning. It’s funny, action packed, but also has a sad twist. I don’t want to give anything away, but I can tell you my teenager (a big fan of the first movie) was not real happy with the sad twist and how it went down. There was some complaining. Other than that, How to Train Your Dragon 2 was enjoyed by the whole family, and is one we’re happy to have added to our movie collection.

The Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital HD feature hours of bonus materials that I highly recommend. The features explore the beautiful world of dragons. The Blu-ray™ and Digital HD contain four exclusive featurettes, deleted scenes and a 60-minute behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the film. We really enjoyed all the bonus features.

Don’t forget between now and December 3rd, you can enter to win a free How to Train Your Dragon Blu-ray Combo pack here on Five Dollar Shake!

MasterChef Junior airing Tuesday nights on FOX #masterchefjunior

How fun is this show! Master Chef Junior is a culinary competition series for talented kids between the ages of eight and 13 who love to cook, as part of a new multi-year deal with award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay. The junior chefs each compete by preparing their own versions of one of Gordon’s favorite dishes. It’s amazing how some of the kids handle the competition and thrive. The pride, the heartbreak! We love watching and talking about this show. It’s always entertaining.

Our granddaughter Becca recently received a fun package from FOX, and MasterChef Junior to test out her own cooking skills.

The package included everything she needed for DIY gourmet popcorn. Even her own measuring spoons and chef hat!

Our teenager and Becca handled this one on their own, while I was under the weather. It sounded like a lot of fun, and the house sure had a delicious aroma. I heard that Becca created a tasty, spicy popcorn and that she handled things in the kitchen like a real MasterChef. The girls enjoyed sharing their gourmet popcorn with the rest of the family while watching the premiere of MasterChef Junior.

We’ve been watching MasterChef Junior weekly since the new season began, and really enjoying it. Each of us trying to guess the out come of each dish. The kids are amazing! Very talented, determent and inspiring. I know I wouldn’t go up against any of them!

You can watch MasterChef Junior airing on Tuesday nights at 8/7C on FOX!

Grab the snack that gives back #ThisBarSavesLives

Every year, severe acute malnutrition claims the lives of 2.6 million children. That’s one child every 12 seconds. But here’s the thing…it’s preventable. If we each made even a small effort, this could be a reality of the past.

That’s where This Bar Saves Lives comes in (founded by actors and activists Kristen Bell, Ryan Devlin, Todd Grinnell and Ravi Patel). They’re the makers of 3 delicious, non-GMO snack bars packed with superfoods.

Whole Foods brought them in stores to bring awareness to their buy-one, give-one movement. For each bar you purchase, one life-saving packet of Plumpy’Nut®—a nutrient-rich paste—is donated to a malnourished child across the world.

This morning, I’m not just enjoying my snack while at work – I’m saving lives!

Okay, it’s great that they make a difference, but how do they taste? I think they taste great! In-fact they have replaced my usual morning granola bars. The Wild Blueberry Pistachio is by far my favorite. I plan to continue buying them when my case is gone.

How about you? Tell me, where do you save lives?

Trailer Park Tuesday, Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 #BlartRidesAgain

Paul Blart Mall Cop 2

In this sequel, in which Kevin James reprises the role of Paul Blart, the security guard is headed to Las Vegas to attend a Security Guard Expo with his teenage daughter Maya (Raini Rodriguez) before she departs for college. While at the convention, he inadvertently discovers a heist – and it’s up to Blart to apprehend the criminals.

Directer: Andy Fickman

Cast: Kevin James, Raini Rodriguez, Eduardo Verástegui, Daniella Alonso, Neal McDonough, David Henrie

In theaters: April 17, 2015

ATTENTION: Blart is back. REPEAT: Blart is back… he he he. I have to admit this make me happy. The first movie is a guilty pleasure of mine. Even though I’ve seen it a dozen times, I still laugh at some of the scenes. Hoping the sequel is just as funny.

How about you? Will you see Paul Blart Mall Cop 2?

Thankful for Migraine Relief with Ausanil #sweeps

Thanksgiving officially kicks off the holiday season and for most of us, that means living and laughing with loved ones. But, let’s get real, the holidays can also mean increased stress levels. For millions of migraine sufferers (myself included), that increased stress along with changes in routine and eating habits, can mean more migraines.

If you suffer from migraines, you are not alone! The maker of non-prescription, homeopathic Ausanil® Nasal Spray for rapid relief of severe headaches and migraines understand that the holidays are just around the corner, and are ready to help those who suffer from migraines get through them pain-free.

Looking for things to be thankful for this year? It’s hard to imagine enjoying all that comes along with the holiday season while battling a painful migraine. The unbearable pain, that often disrupts everyday life simply leaves no room for it.

That’s why I’m thankful for Rapid Migraine Relief. Without migraine pain, I can enjoy all that the holidays have to bring.

Even though I know that Ausanil has my back against the worst migraines, the best thing to do is to try to avoid them all together. Part of doing that is to mange the triggers. It’s easy to forget during the busy holiday season.

Three things to avoid to help manage migraines:

1. Caffeinated beverages. Research shows that an excessive amounts (more than 2 cups a day) of caffeinated beverages such as tea, coffee, or cola can be a major migraine trigger.

2. Chewing gum. A nice stick of gum can be a refreshing way to cleanse your palette, but can it also be a minty fresh ticket to a painful migraine headache? Research shows this may just be the case.

3. Stress. The most common migraine trigger is stress. Migraine sufferers are thought to be highly responsive emotionally. Anxiety, worry, shock, and sadness can all release certain brain chemicals that lead to a migraine headache.

“If sufferers don’t work to better manage their migraines during the holidays by keeping a regular routine, getting enough sleep, watching what they eat, and staying prepared with their medication(s), it’s possible they’ll miss out on memorable moments with their loved ones during the most joy-filled times of the year.” –
