I recently spent a week driving the 2016 Camry XLE to review. The Toyota Camry has been the bestselling car in America for 12 years. In my opinion, it is very well deserved. I was impressed while reviewing the 2015 Toyota Camry XLE, and found the 2016 to be comparable. With very little changes. The 2016 Camry is offered in five trim packages: LE, SE, XSE, XLE and SE (with special features).
Front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission are standard on all models, while engine choices include a standard four-cylinder and an optional V6.
Packed with all of the features that I enjoy, and depend on, plus a few more! Inside the 2016 Toyota Camry XLE you’ll find a great combination of modern tech and a sporty style. I love that!
Features like, Smart Key System with Push Button Start, Wireless charging, Voice-activated features, with advanced voice recognition, Multi-Information Display that is easy to view from any angle. Toyota keeps you connected you when you need it (Safety Connect®), and when you want it (Entune® App Suite).
Camry was designed to thrill. Its available 3.5-liter V6 puts 268 horsepower under your right foot, making it one powerful ride.
Let’s not forget these impressive safety features:
Being only five foot tall, the Blind Spot Monitor is extremely helpful. The BSM detects a vehicle, and illuminates a warning indicator on the appropriate sideview mirror to help you know when it’s safe to change lanes. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) works in much the same way. When you slowly back out of a driveway or parking spot, it provides audible and visual indicators to warn you of approaching vehicles.
The Camry has ten Airbags, and features Whiplash-Injury-Lessening Seating. The Camry’s front seats are engineered to yield in a controlled fashion in certain rear-end collisions, helping to reduce the risk of neck injuries.
The Camry comes standard with the Star Safety System™, a suite of six advanced safety features designed to help keep you out of harm’s way. The system includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology® (SST).
I honestly can not think of anything negative to share about my experience while driving this car. I drove it 23 mile each way to and from my office, and feel I got even better gas mileage that expected. The car drove like a dream, merging on and off the freeway with ease. The Camry has plenty of pick-up, and is very easy to handle. Making it really fun to drive. If I owned it, I’m not sure I would ever be home.
The 2016 Camry is fuel efficient, powerful, and very comfortable to drive. I highly recommend a test drive if you are in market for a mid-size sedan.
