I have a confession to make. I have become completely addicted to a 30 minute, relaxing warm soak in the tub each night before bed. Wine Barrel Gourmet, Review & Giveaway

Let me tell you a little bit about the Wine Barrel Gourmet and how it came to be. The Wine Barrel Gourmet is truly is family operation. The founder, Renee Pottle, has a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and Home Economics/Business, and her experience as a recipe developer for Pillsbury Fast and Healthy Magazine, were a natural incubator for a career in specialty foods. A family history of heart disease sent her on a quest to provide healthy food that tastes good too!
Well, I can tell you that she has succeeded ! The generous people at the Wine Barrel Gourmet sent me this beautiful package of their bead & soup mixes for review.
I decided to prepare them last Sunday for lunch. It was a snowy, cold afternoon and my husband and I were enjoying a day at home with our daughter.
I mixed the all natural Rosemary Buttermilk Bread first. It was quick and easy, with most of the ingredients already measured in the mix. The dough had a nice thick and hearty feel to it. The bonus – it took only minutes for my house to be filled with the wonderful homemade aroma of baking bread. I love that!
While the bread was baking I mixed the Red Wine Lentil Soup. The soup was just as easy as the bread to prepare and with the same amazing heartiness. Oh, and by then the smells coming out of my kitchen could have fooled anyone into thinking I had slaved all morning long on lunch. The result was a perfect lunch for us on a cold winter day. Delicious and full of homemade flavor. Knowing that I was also serving my family an all natural and healthy meal was a huge bonus. Not at all what you’d expect from a mix.

Yep, it really is as easy as 1, 2, 3! And a whole lot of fun!

Sounds simple, but with everyone playing simultaneously, the options are constantly changing. The first player out of cards wins. And just about every round that has been my daughter!
We are a big card and game family. We feel it’s important as a family to have time together doing nothing else but relaxing and having fun. This past week we have been playing and enjoying 7Ate9.
