Cedar Point is at it again! Doing good, and making me love them even more.
This Father’s Day, June 16, runners will have the opportunity to race past all their favorite roller coasters at Cedar Point while raising money for local schools and honoring a local dad.
The third annual race has been renamed the Chris Smith Memorial 5K Challenge in memory of a Perkins High School cross-country coach who died last year. The course includes great views of the world’s tallest and fastest roller coasters, including the new wing record-breaker, GateKeeper !
Proceeds benefit youth cross country programs at the Perkins, Sandusky and Sandusky Central Catholic school districts.
The early registration deadline has been extended to June 9, allowing participants who register before then to save $5. Early registration is $35 and includes free parking at Cedar Point the day of the race, discounted admission, and early entry to the park, a Tech performance T-shirt, a souvenir medal, souvenir photo and disposable chip timing system.
The overall male and female finishers will receive plaques featuring the race logo, a pair of Cedar Point tickets, and a pair of Fast Lane tickets allowing them to skip ahead to the front of the line all day long! The top male and female finishers in each age group will receive a medal and a pair of Fast Lane tickets.
