<a href=”http://heelys.com/” target=_blank”>Heelys are the two-in-one shoe that lets you take life at your own pace. With the wheels out, the stylish designs perform and look just like any other shoe. When you easily put the wheels in, you roll at a different speed. Heelys are about exploring your freedom, unleashing the fun and empowering you to be fearless.
Heelys are shoes with a single or double wheel in the heel and they allow the wearer to go from walking to rolling simply by shifting their weight to their heels. When the wheels are easily removed, the shoe performs just like any other shoe.
The very nice people at <a href=”http://heelys.com/” target=_blank”>Heelys sent the above pair of shoes to my eleven year old daughter for review. From the minute she put them on she has been rolling every where! Zipping around corners, coming and going fast and easy, like she was born with wheels on the bottom of her feet.
The “Chazz sneaker” style features a slick and casual look with a rubber shell toe, lace-up front and they go with just about everything. My daughter says they are “sick” which I am told is now the way to express even better than awesome.
The Heelys we received are made of the highest quality and designed to last. Allison has been wearing them on a regular basis for months now and they still have the same great look. This is very impressive for living in Michigan this time of year when kids shoes really take a beating.
My daughter also received a Heelys Nano Board as part of this review but has not yet attempted to use it. Never heard of the Nano?
The Nano™ inline footboard combines the high speed of a skateboard with the stealth and maneuverability of Heelys wheeled footwear to create a new hybrid skate system called “freeboarding” that has streamlined the world of wheels. Nano™, available now, thrills the user with the same sensations and freedoms felt while slalom skiing and wakeboarding, providing an out-of-this-world ride.
The Nano is compatible with ALL sizes of any Fats and Mega style Heelys skate shoes and works by simply removing the wheel from one of the shoes and snapping the patented wheel bracket into the Sole-Link™, like a ski or snowboard binding. Nano’s innovative design provides a stable platform for your front foot, allowing your rear foot free to build momentum, carve sharp turns, and perform a wide variety of tricks.
Nano™ was designed specifically with freeform movement in mind. During product testing, athletes pushed Nano™ to the extreme and found that it changed the way they felt about other sports, like skateboarding and inline skating. The Nano™ provides such a far-out range of motion that Heelys has coined a new sport to define it: ‘freeboarding’.
Binding a single foot to the board allows for greater freedom to jump, grind, tumble and vault over different landscapes, similar to free running. Because of the hybrid way of skating and flexibility of tricks, we have started calling the sport ‘freeboarding’”, says Heelys CEO, Tom Hansen.
Available now in Heelys’ online store and select retailers for $79.95, the Nano is made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, which is lightweight, rugged and BPA free. It measures approximately 15 inches long and 7 inches wide, and is small enough to fit easily in a backpack or in a school locker.
Check out the exciting video below!
I’m thinking Allison and her friends will be more open to trying this board in the spring or maybe summer. We’ve had a pretty hard fall and winter around here with not much outside time for the kids.
It sure looks like fun!
I was provided with a free products by Heelys for the purpose of writing this review. No type of monetary compensation was received. The opinions expressed are 100% my own and of my daughters.
