I was recently given the opportunity to spend a day behind the scenes of eBay Classifies at their San Jose, California location. I was one on a list of mom bloggers and professional organizers invited to share this day. A list I am honored to be associated with. We were presented with a full day of presentations by some pretty talented and top notch people. My first impression was that this is a company that really cares. Knowing and acknowledging women as most likely to budget, shop or even sell used products in a house hold tells me that eBay has really done their homework. Knowing that Mom Blogger’s are a great way to reach this market, impresses me even more. Now my husband was quick to the party and has already made several tool purchases on eBay Classifieds, so there is no leaving the men out but let’s face it, we women do like to shop. And if you are anything like me, also love the idea of turning those unwanted items sitting in the attic or garage into some extra cash. Because let’s face it, we can’t shop with out extra cash.
eBay Classifieds is also a great place to take “Going Green” to the next level. One of the presenters of the day was ECO-Fabulous Blogger Zem Joaquin who taught us often, the greenest product is the one that already exists. She provided a step by step presentation on how she found a used piece of furniture and turned in to something new and exciting for her home and she did it all ECO friendly. This is a great way to feel good about shopping eBay Classifieds.
Also a presenter was Amy Skoczlas Cole, director of eBay Green Team. The Green Team is having great success at helping consumers save money and the planet at the save time. Be sure to visit the eBay Green Team online to learn more.
We heard very impressive presentations from the Ebay Classified Team that covered any of our questions from top to bottom. Then installing my first impression that this company really cares, the day was not all about eBay Classifieds. Giving back to us for being there, eBay profited us bloggers with amazing presentation (and open discussions) from the talented Richard Brewer- Hay (Senior Manager, eBay Corp. Communications, eBay Ink Blogger), JJ McCarthy (Manager, U.S. Affiliate Program), Dennis Goedegebuure (eBay Senior Manager & Team Lead, SEO) on how to improve our place on the web. What a great learning opportunity!
I look forward to sharing more in my next eBay Classified post. Yes, stay tuned because this is only one of many posts to come. Also, feel free to email me your eBay Classified experiences to include!
I can’t wrap up my first post about this experience with out the mention of fun! Or how great it was to spend time with and getting to know the other women who also attended! I think we are a great fit and I see us doing great things together as a group. (look for me to spot light each blogger over the next few weeks)
Thank you eBay Classifieds for including me in this great opportunity and MBooth, you rocked this trip! Thank you for all of the hard work that went in to getting each of us there and keeping us happy.
