Chinese food has been a favorite of mine for years. Like most favorites, I tend to play it safe and stick to my usual restaurants when eating out. While recently planning a dinner and movie date with our teenage daughter, I decided to branch out and give a new Chinese restaurant a try. We used the restaurant.com app, put in the theater address, and found a great deal for Golden Chopsticks, right in the middle between our house and the theater.
The restaurant was tucked away in a small shopping plaza. Inside, we found it very clean, and surprisingly spacious. The fresh sushi bar and ethnic decor gives the restaurant a nice, modern feel. The staff was super friendly, and very attentive as soon as we walked in.
We both decided to not only try eating somewhere new to us, but to also order something off the menu that we’ve never had. We both started with Wonton Soup. My daughter ordered Garlic Pepper Chicken, and I ordered Chicken Stir Fry.
Both plates were filled with a generous portion of food. Though, I’m not a fan of the wonton soup, my daughter loved it. Both meals were delicious. The chicken cooked perfectly. The rice, some of the best that I have ever had. Lite, and flavorful. We both left glad to have tried something new that evening.
It’s no surprise to us that since 1994, Golden Chopsticks has been the local East Side’s favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch, dinner and for carry-out. They even cater events.
Don’t forget the cookies. What kind of fortune will you read? Ours were pretty spot on, and fun.
Golden Chopsticks is located at 1989 Wayne Rd, Westland, MI 48185.
When was the last time you tried eating somewhere new?
