I’m excited to be heading back to L.A. (11/7 – 11/9) to join 24 awesome bloggers for what is sure to be a spectacular Disney/Pixar hosted event!
This trip will include the Hollywood Red Carpet Premiere of Disney/Pixar’s COCO, and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ OLAF’S FROZEN ADVENTURE. We will also be focusing on and interviewing talent from the new Disney XD animated show BIG HERO 6 THE SERIES, plus ABC’s Designated Survivor, and Kevin Probably Saves the World. It’s going to be an exciting couple of days. I hope you’ll follow along.
Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
Not only are we attending the Premiere party for COCO on Hollywood Blvd, but the press junket as well. Currently we have plans to interview Gael Garcia Bernal (voice of “Hector”), Benjamin Bratt (voice of “Ernesto de la Cruz”), Anthony Gonzalez (voice of “Miguel”), Alanna Ubach (“Mama Imelda”) and Director Lee Unkrich, Writer & Co-Director Adrian Molina & Producer Darla K. Anderson.
Seriously, that is such a talented line-up! This movie looks so fabulous, colorful, and is said to be filled with meaningful traditions, so I think this part of our event is going to be a big win all-around.
Featuring four new original songs, the 21-minute featurette welcomes the original cast and characters back to the big screen, including Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), who is on a mission to harness the best holiday traditions for Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel) and Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff). Directed by Emmy®-winning filmmakers Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton (“Prep & Landing”), produced by Oscar® winner Roy Conli (“Big Hero 6”), with original songs by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson (“Between the Lines”).
I’m really excited to be interviewing Directors Stevie Wermers-Skelton & Kevin Deters and Producer Roy Conli during this trip. There will also be a drawing demo with Disney artists, which is going to be interesting because I have zero artistic ability. This should be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to report back to my little Frozen fans at home.
Based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-winning feature film, “Big Hero 6 The Series” picks up following the events of the feature film and continues the adventures and friendship of 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax. Along with their friends Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go and Fred, they form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6 and embark on high-tech adventures as they protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains.
While in LA, we will be screening the brand new TV-movie “Big Hero 6: Baymax Returns, followed by a Q & A with Series Executive Producers Mark McCorkle, Bob Schooley & Nick Filippi.
I recently watched Big Hero 6 with my family for the first time. Such a great movie. I can’t wait to learn more about the series.
Designated Survivor” airs Wednesdays at 10/9 on ABC and can also be watched on the ABC App and On Demand (and on Hulu!).
In Season Two of the hit ABC drama “Designated Survivor,” Kiefer Sutherland returns as Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member who is suddenly appointed President of the United States after a catastrophic attack on the U.S. Capitol during the State of the Union.
Now, one year later, President Kirkman finds his feet as commander in chief as he closes the ring on the terrorists who destroyed the Capitol and manages the daily flow of crises inside the West Wing. He’ll take on some of the world’s most urgent and controversial matters with the help of his aides, including three new series regulars: offbeat but brilliant political director Lyor Boone; the new resident legal eagle, White House Counsel Kendra Daynes; and M1-6 operative Damian Renneett who forms an unlikely alliance with FBI agent Hannah Wells and the White House.
We will be viewing a special preview screening of the 11/15 episode followed by a Q+A with Showrunner Keith Eisner!
This is one of those shows that has been on my radar since it began, but I just hadn’t watched it yet – well I am watching now, and can’t wait to see what happens next.
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC and can also be watched on the ABC App and On Demand (and on Hulu!).
Kevin Finn (Jason Ritter) is not a good person. He’s not terrible, but he’s selfish, and clueless, and values material wealth and status over all else. And he’s beginning to realize that those things aren’t making him happy – in fact, he’s fairly miserable. Just when things seem to be at their worst, he finds himself tasked with an unbelievable mission… saving the world.
On a dangerous path of despair, Kevin returns to his childhood home in Texas to crash with his widowed twin sister, Amy (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), and teenaged niece, Reese (Chloe East). It is a strained homecoming – he and his family have grown apart over the years – and Kevin has no real hope that anything will get better. But a series of fantastic events, including a meteorite landing near the house, lead Kevin to meet an unlikely celestial guide, Yvette (Kimberly Hébert Gregory). Yvette delivers incredible news to Kevin: in every generation, there are 36 righteous souls on Earth whose mere existence protects the word. Kevin, she tells him, is the last of the 36 righteous. Humanity has been thrown into crisis. Without the 36, the world will begin to lose the one thing that allows us to persevere through the ups and downs of life: hope.
Now Kevin has a mission, whether he wants it or not: “power up” his soul through acts of kindness and selflessness, so that he can eventually find and anoint a new generation of righteous. Yvette will serve as his protector and teacher, a drill sergeant with divine authority, even if she’s the least angel-like person he’s ever met.
We will be eating dinner while watching & live tweeting the east coast feed of “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” with the show’s Creators & Executive Producers Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters followed by a Q+A!
Four episodes in, and I am in-love with this series! If you are not watching it, you are totally missing out on some heartfelt, laugh out loud comedy. I’m pretty excited about this part of our trip.
While in LA our hotel accommodations are being provided by the beautiful Universal Sheraton Hotel. You know – Where the Stars Stay!
I can’t wait to share all of the event details as they happen. One of my favorite things about this kind of press trip is that there are always surprises. I hope you’ll follow along on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It’s going to be so much fun.
