Natural Flea Repellent for Pets

I’ve been spending a lot of time searching for the best natural, safe alternatives that will kill and repel fleas and other insects without using the harmful chemicals that are found in most store bought products. Turns out this is also going to be a money saver for my family!

Essential oils are an option to repel fleas and biting insects. I’ve read that almost any spicy or sharp essential oil will repel insects. Here is a list of some recommended oils:

* Lavender
* Peppermint
* Spearmint
* Melaleuca

These can be mixed with water and misted onto your dog or cat’s fur with care.

I’ve also heard that one of the best natural remedies to repel fleas is garlic. The easiest way to use garlic is by purchasing dried or “odorless” garlic tablets from the health food store and slipping it in to your pet’s food.

Roxy doesn’t seem to mind the garlic tablets and Lavender mist and so far is happily flea free!

      I have no idea. I just decided to try these ideas not too long ago. I would love to hear from a reader who has experience with any of these or any other natural alternatives.
