Allie Finkle Books, Review & $50 Visa Gift Card Giveaway!

This giveaway is now closed.

Allie is just a 9-year-old girl who’s just trying to make sense out of the 4th grade, so she jots down rules to help herself remember how to be a good sister, student, and friend – and also not to eat anything red. That’s a rule!

In Book 1: Moving Day, When Allie’s parents announce that the family is moving, Allie’s sure her life is over. She’s not at all happy about having to give up her pretty pink wall-to-wall carpeting for creaky floorboards and creepy secret passageways . . . not to mention leaving her modern, state-of-the-art suburban school for a rundown, old-fashioned school just two blocks from her new house. With a room she’s half-scared to go into, the burden of being “the new girl,” and her old friends all a half-hour car ride away, how will Allie ever learn to fit in?

My eleven year old daughter fell in love with this book within the first chapter. So much so that we caught her reading it more than once way past bedtime in her bed. My husband and I both surprised to find her light on and no DSi or cell phone in her bed. Just her copy of Moving Day under her pillow. That to me says a whole lot!

I also took the time to read Moving Day. What stood out to me was the real life choice Allie faces, and how she learns from sometimes making the wrong ones. Allie Finkle really touches her readers with making reality entertaining. I’ve had really enjoyed read and discussing this book with my daughter.

I have the pleasure of offering one reader to experience the same, and more. Not only the book, but the chance to hold your own book club!

One winner will receive a $50.00 Visa Gift card and 10 copies of Allie Finkle Book 1: Moving Day so you and your daughter can host a book club! To enter visit and then leave a comment below saying what stood out to you while there. One winner will be chosen and contacted on November 15, 2010.
