Frito-Lay is doing their part! Frito-Lay’s manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona is 75% Near Net Zero! That means that the facility now operates mostly on renewable energy and recycled water while producing nearly zero waste.
At the Frito-Lay Casa Grande plant, they’ve implemented technologies to recycle water, generate electricity and steam from renewable energy sources, achieved LEED certification and succeeded in sending nearly zero waste to the landfill. The Casa Grande plant is a great example of how Frito-Lay is working to minimize its impact on the environment.

- At all of our facilities, we reuse our shipping cartons up to six times before recycling them to help reduce waste. All Frito-Lay manufacturing plants are striving to divert at least 99% of waste from landfills.
- Frito-Lay added 1,200+ fuel-efficient Sprinter vehicles to its fleet along with converting 650 sales cars to hybrid vehicles to help reduce emissions. Now, we’re even using all electric route delivery trucks in some of our metropolitan markets.
This concept is just incredible to me. Does it make me feel better about purchasing their products? You bet it does! With most families putting in the effort to make a difference, it’s nice to hear such a large company moving forward and working towards such significant reductions.
