This movie caught me a little off guard. It wasn’t exactly what I expected. I knew we were going to enjoy our time watching it together as a family. Knowing it was filmed in Detroit, I also knew we were going to enjoy spotting local landmarks through-out the film. What I didn’t know or expect was how much we were all going to fall in-love with it. My daughter and husband really enjoyed the boxing action and robots, so much so that there was plenty of hooting and hollering going on. I found myself pulled a little more into the father, son storyline. We found this movie exciting, fun and I also needed a couple of tissues before it was over. It really has it all. Hugh Jackman does an outstanding job, as does the rest of the cast. Not a perfect movie, it does lack the element of surprise, but Real Steel was the perfect choice for our most recent family movie night. Three big thumbs-up from us.
