Technology is the fastest growing waste stream on the planet. As one of the world’s largest retailer of consumer electronics, Best Buy is now working to be part of the solution. Their recycling program is now free and be found at all Best Buy stores inside the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
- No matter where you bought or how old it is, Best Buy will recycle it.
- Best Buy recycles 387 pounds of electronics each minute our stores are open.
- If you bring your electronics to Best Buy, they will responsibly and safely dispose of them.
We recently dropped off a older, nonworking laptop and cell phone. The process was just as quick and easy as described. It’s a good feeling to de-clutter and rid of old items, and it’s an even better feeling to know the items are not ending up in a landfill.

Did you know that Best Buy carries a whole line of Energy Star certified products as well? Recycle your old electronics and upgrade to more energy efficient ones.
Have you made the switch yet? We have! It’s been just over a year since we replaced out kitchen appliances with Energy Star certified products. Looking at our energy bill, not only do the appliances look great, but they’re doing a good job at helping us to use less energy. It was a great decision! Next, I hope to focus on our laundry room!

I think I considered their program at some point but it was not free at the time. Thanks for the info.
I didn’t know this. I usually wait for the city electronic recycling, but good to know this is available
I didn’t know they had this in all stores! I’ll probably stop by when spring cleaning comes up.
