Legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott and Pulitzer Prize winning author Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men) have joined forces in the motion picture thriller THE COUNSELOR. McCarthy, making his screenwriting debut and Scott interweave the author’s characteristic wit and dark humor with a nightmarish scenario, in which a respected lawyer’s one-time dalliance with an illegal business deal spirals out of control.
Director: Ridley Scott
Cast: Michael Fassbender, Penalope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, Rosie Perez, Brad Pitt.
In theaters: October 25th, 2013
Several things make this a must see movie for me. One, I’m a huge fan of Ridley Scott’s work (Thelma & Louise, American Gangster, The Good Wife, etc.). Two, Cormac McCarthy’s “No Country For Old Men” is my favorite book to movie adaptation. I don’t think I slept right for a week while reading that book! Both men have amazing talent and distinct personalities in their work. So, I have real high hopes for The Counselor.
What are your thoughts? Do you ever look forward to a movie just knowing who worked behind the scenes?
