Kia Knows Power, my 2015 Kia Sorento LX V6 review

I recently spent a week with this beauty! The 2015 Kia Sorento LX V6. If you follow me on social media, you already know I have mad crazy love for Kia, but this one, wow, she stands out! Not only is this SUV a beauty to look at, offers a ton of convenient options, and amazing comfort inside – but she has the goods under the hood!

Of course the 2015 Kia Sorento offers all of the conveniences that Kia is known for; Power-Folding Outside Mirrors, Remote Keyless Entry, Push-Button Start with Smart Key and Immobilizer, FlexSteer™ Driver-Selectable Steering Assist, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Dual Front Cup Holders, 2nd-Row Center Armrest with Cup Holders, Rear Air Conditioning, Trip Computer, Integrated 2nd-Row Window Sunshades, just to name a few.

Whether your packing for a weekend or just returning home from the grocery store, the 2015 Kia Sorento offers a huge amount of hatch space. Huge! And if more space is needed, there is an Under-Rear-Cargo-Floor Storage Compartment! The review vehicle I drove also had Power Liftgate with Programmable Height Adjustment. Open and close the Power Liftgate with a press of a button on the key fob or the liftgate it’s self. For added convenience, you can also set the opening height! Kia has no idea just how much this five foot one (on a good hair day) mom appreciated that button!

Let’s talk safety! It amazes me that Kia somehow keeps finding ways to improve. Of-course the biggest safety option while on the road is always an attentive driver, but knowing that Kia works hard to keep improving on their safety features sure gives me peace of mind while my family is on the road.

Some of my favorites are; Dual Front Advanced Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags on the 1st & 2nd Rows, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes with Antilock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), Rollover Sensor, and the Front Active Headrests design to reduce the likelihood of neck, head, and spinal injuries during an accent. I love knowing that Kia has earned top safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and/or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Like a said, “peace of mind”.

Kia also sure knows how to bring the gadgets! Having modern options in a vehicle not only makes me happy, it makes me a better driver. In my opinion several of these options are as just as much a safety option as they are gadgets. Voice-Command Navigation with 8″ Display, UVO eServices & SiriusXM Traffic, Infinity® Surround Sound Audio System with Ten Speakers, External Amplifier & Subwoofer, HD Radio™, Bluetooth® Wireless Technology Hands-Free Connectivity, Rear-Camera Display, Trip Computer, EcoMinder® Fuel-Efficiency Indicator, 115-Volt Power Inverter and the all important for any road trip USB/Auxiliary Input Jack. I don’t know how we traveled anywhere with our teenager without it.

The 2015 Kia Sorento sure is pretty look at, with her shiny, sparkly paint, and fancy grill and wheels, but don’t let her beauty fool you, she’s packed with power! We packed up and drove this SUV five hours through northern Michigan. It handled great on the freeway! Picked up speed in seconds. Not kidding, seconds! Drove up and down hill with ease. Not that I would ever drive over the speed limit, on an open and empty road, in the country, but if I did – I’d be able to tell you that this beauty flies smooth, and with impressive ease.

Also impressive is Kia’s fuel economy. 18/25/- City/Highway is not bad at all for full size SUV! In-fact the only issue I had during my entire week of driving the 2015 Kia Soento is, at my height I have to readjust the mirrors often, to avoid blind spots. Also, I don’t know what it is but I found the driver seat belt slightly uncomfortable. Again, this could be height related. Both are issues that I’m sure I’d be able to work out over time of driving the car. Definitely wouldn’t be a deal breaker. The 2015 Kia Sorento is an amazing vehicle. If in your budget, I highly recommend a test drive.

That looks like an awesome car. I just bought a new one but mine doesn’t have remote keyless entry :).

  2. I loved test driving the Sorento when I had it. I actually wanted to buy one when I recently went car shopping but needed to spend a little less money this time around.
