We made the switch and upgraded to the Xfinity X1 Platform #XfinityReviewer

We recently upgraded to the new Xfinity X1 Platform, and I can’t wait to share all of the details with you! Not just details on how we view home entertainment (though that has greatly improved), but how several features effect our budget, like adding an Xfinity house phone (yes, I said house phone) with Voice2Go has made it possible for us to cut our mobile data plan, while also adding some great security to our family. Details on how we are able to capture the best internet speed on all three floors of our home. This has not been an easy task in the past.

I hope you’ll be following along here on my blog, on Twitter and Facebook, as I share all of the details, trouble shooting and tips, and the highs and lows of our Xfinity X1 journey, including their huge On-demand system. Did you know you can actually purchase and download movies through Comcast?

First I’d like to share our experience of making the switch. I love that Comcast works around our schedule so there was no need to rush home from the office, worried we might miss the appointment. Our cable installer called to give us a reminder an hour before our scheduled appointment. When his previous appointment ran a few minutes over, he called again with an update and an apology. When he arrived he could not have been nicer. Very polite, and without even asking wore booties over his shoes – which was nice because we just had our carpets cleaned. After seeing that our previous cable company had split our cable lines several times, our Comcast installer was outside in the cold for well over an hour replacing them to give us the best possible signal. No complaints out of him! He then took all the time needed to hook up, and test our main box with DVR in the living room, a secondary box in our bedroom, and our phone service. Since the X1 system is different than anything we’ve had before, he took his time and went over every feature and detail, and then some. This made the switch really easy, and a lot of fun!

    I wonder how much this costs. Xfininty has so many plans that I get dizzy just reading them. Right now because I told Comcast that I wanted some more Internet speed that would only cost me $5 dollars a month, they got me a package that costed me $25 less! I was thrilled. But, I do not want higher Internet and TV bills. I am going to keep getting what I want for the cheapest I can.

  4. I must admit that I haven’t had a good experience with Comcast. I’m looking forward to reading your posts. Hopefully, the service has improved.

    I haven’t had a house phone in I don’t know how long, and my mom would really like it if we did for emergencies. Not familiar with this brand of service.

    My tech was super nice also. Do you know the name of yours? A trainee was with him as well, and they both wore booties, which I appreciated.
