Our Mother, Daughter lunch @ Lakeshore Grill (Macy’s) @Restaurant_Com #ReviewCrew #sp

Back to school time is a busy time of year. Add together eleventh grade homework, drivers training, and our sixteen year old daughter getting her first part-time job, and it becomes just plum crazy. Yet, as crazy as it has been, we still managed to fit in a nice mother/daughter shopping day at the mall that included a fancy lunch at Lakeshore Grill inside of Macy’s. The perfect way to kick-off the new school year.

Shopping at Macy’s is not our typical. It’s a bit above our budget, so when we do go there, we really appreciate it. Though, I do have several cherished memories of shopping Hudson’s (now Macy’s) with my grandmother, and later in life with my mother in-law. It has always been a nice place to shop, and enjoying lunch at Lakeshore Grill has always been something special. Something I can now say I was able to share with my daughter.

We had the best day. Shopping was a lot of fun, and lunch was delicious. Known for their high standards, Lakeshore Grill did not disappoint. The atmosphere was warm, the service was great, and the food – amazing! It’s no surprise to me that Lakeshore Grill at Macy’s has been setting standards and serving food for over 125 years.

I ordered Lakeshore Grill’s most popular sandwich, the Grilled Cobblestone Turkey, and Allison, the Barbecue Chicken Quesadillas with fresh pico de gallo sauce, made in-house. Both were out of this world good. The Grilled Cobblestone Turkey is made with cinnamon bread. Yes, cinnamon bread! The flavor of the meat, cheese and sauce blended with the sweetness of the grilled bread just melts in your mouth. Seriously, this had to be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

Allison had nothing but good to say about her Barbecue Chicken Quesadillas. Full of flavorful meat, and cheese, the fresh pico sauce really tops it off to be delicious. She was happy to have ordered it.

Of-course we couldn’t leave without trying Lakeshore Grill’s famous Cream Puff! Big enough for two, and so good. We may have to go back just for dessert sometime. Yum!

During such busy times, when we are more likely to grab something quick and on the go, it was really nice to slow down and enjoy this mother/daughter lunch at Lakeshore Grill in Macy’s.

As I previously mentioned, shopping Macy’s and eating at Lakeshore Grill is not our typical. Thanks to Restaurant.Com and their money saving coupons, this could change. I was able to easily log into the Restaurant.com app and score a $25 savings for only $10. Making this lunch with my daughter not only memorable, but very affordable.

I’ve been to Lakeshore Grill at both the Novi and Somerset locations, both were very nice :).

  3. I love anything food but haven’t heard of this one yet. When visiting places I always order the same things too I have to get out of that habit and expand. Love your photos!

  4. Your lunch looks amazing, and your daughter is beautiful! I love spending one on one time with my girls like that – time with them is always so short. Love making memories with food and family!

  5. You should get a Macy’s credit card. It’s the best because they constantly send coupons to cardholders, which makes shopping so much more affordable. If you do and shop there more, you can eat more often at Lakeshore Grill. The food looks very delicious.

  6. It sounds like you and your daughter had a wonderful time, and I am sure it is great to get in these special memories before she heads to college. I had only known of one Macy’s with food inside of it (here in NYC), so it is cool to find out some others have restaurants inside of them as well!

  7. The food looks so delicious! I’m glad you and your daughter are able to find time during this crazy part of her life! I know she will cherish these moments and I know you do too!

  8. What a fun looking tradition to continue with your own daughter. That cream puff looks amazing, I’m a sucker for a good dessert!

I LOVE Lakeshore Grill. It’s one of my all-time favorites! My favorite are the JL Hudson classics – Canadian Cheese Soup and the Maurice salad – and ALWAYS a cream puff with Sanders! It would be my last meal on earth for sure 🙂

  10. What a fun tradition to be able to carry on with your daughter! I have gotten some really good deals at Macy’s over the year it’s a fun store to bargain hunt at. All of the food looks delicious and I love that you were able to save money with Restaurant.com gift certificates!

  11. That sandwich looks amazing! I’d love to try it sometime. Your daughter is adorable. Glad you had a fun mother/daughter day.

  12. Oh my gosh, that sandwich looks amazing! I love Restaurant.com gift certificates–we use them while traveling a lot too! Our Macy’s definitely doesn’t have food like this!

  13. Looks delicious! I used to go with a mommy friend when we lived closer to a mall with a Macy’s, but it’s been years now. What a great tradition for you and your daughter.

  14. What a fun tradition and a chance to spend some quality time with your daughter. The food looks amazing including the dessert!! I’ve never been to Lakeshore Grill but have shopped at Macy’s on occasion.

  15. My daughter is 3 years old so I cannot wait for us to have mommy-daughter dates. Right now she is too little but I look forward to shopping and having dinners with her just like you did with your daughter. I know the time will be here before I know it!

  16. Now that my daughter is in high school, she has less time to hang out with mom. Mother daughter time is very near and dear to my heart and I make sure to carve out that special time for her. Of course she would rather shop than eat, but anytime with my princess is a joy. Thanks for sharing.

  17. I rarely shop at Macy’s, too because it’s above my budget. The turkey sandwich and the quesadillas look absolutely delicious. I’ve never dined at the Lakeshore Grill, but I will next time I go to Macy’s.

  18. Wow! That sandwich looks so good. It kinda reminds me of a Monte Crisco. Whenever we go to Macy’s we end up buying a ton of chocolate. lol The one here in Chicago makes chocolate behind the counter and it is so good. I don’t think I have ever bought clothes at Macy’s aside from toddler and baby clothes. I never noticed the grill before. I will have to check if we have one.

  19. The food looks amazing. It’s great that you have the time to hang out with one another. My mom is very far away now (she’s in Canada and I’m traveling around the globe) so we can’t really bond, but I do long for the day that we will finally be able to see each other.
