Mummy Pizza recipe

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. The crisp, cool weather, delicious comfort foods, and of-course Halloween. Every year, the season seems to go by way too fast. So, we start celebrating early in our house, with decorations, baking and enjoying Halloween movies.

During our granddaughter’s recent visit we decided to prepare a fun spooky lunch, in celebration of Hotel Transylvania’s sequel, Hotel Transylvania 2, in theaters NOW. We made Mummy pizzas inspired by Becca’s favorite Hotel Transylvania character, “Murry the Mummy”.

halloween recipe

You will need:
One package of English muffins
One package of 2% string Mozzarella cheese
One small can of pizza sauce
One small can of olives

Halloween themed Tortilla chips

Our girls love to be hands on in the kitchen, so we prepared and set out all the ingredients to make it easy.

Pre heat oven to 350.

Spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce on each muffin half.
Set 2 olive slices in place for eyes on each muffin half.
If you’re including pepperoni, place it on the middle of the muffin.
Pull string cheese into pieces and lay on muffins above and under “eyes”, layering them to look like mummy wrappings.

This easy and fun Mummy Pizza recipe was a hit with my entire family. In-fact Becca say’s they are “spooky good”!

We added sliced apples, Halloween themed tortilla chips, Vampire Blood and colorful cupcakes. It was a fun Hotel Transylvania inspired afternoon.

About the movie:
Hotel owner Dracula (voice of Adam Sandler) is concerned that his half-human grandson Dennis isn’t embracing his vampire heritage. He and his fellow ghouls put Dennis through a “monster-in-training” boot camp, but their efforts are complicated by the arrival of Dracula’s dad, a traditionalist vampire named Vlad (Mel Brooks). Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Keegan-Michael Key, Fran Drescher, Molly Shannon, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman, Dana Carvey, and Rob Riggle also lend their voices to this animated sequel. ~ Jack Rodgers, Rovi
