Five ways to win at Mother’s Day for under $10

Looking to wow her on Mother’s Day, while staying on a tight budget? Here are five nice gift ideas, each for $10 or under.

Homemade dessert

I know baking from scratch isn’t for everyone, but there are some pretty impressive box mixes on the grocery store shelf these days.

Bottle of wine

You can dress it up with a towel, a candle and a note saying to enjoy a long warm bath.

A new book

You can score a paperback book at most department stores for under $6. Place a nice note inside the cover, and encourage her to put her feet up and take some time to enjoy it.

Movie on demand of her choice

This is always fun in our house! A few of her favorite snacks, and you have yourself a great gift!

Breakfast in bed

This always wins! Doesn’t even matter what you make. Breakfast in bed is one of the ultimate ways to pamper her on Mother’s Day.

How do you celebrate Mother’s Day? Have a budget friendly idea? Let’s us know in the comments.

  1. My wife would be all over a new book and breakfast in bed. As a librarian she is a HUGE reader and is always devouring books!

  2. I LOVE this! As a mom, I would trade any gift at all for some breakfast in bed and a little down time.

  3. Jeanine says:

All sounds great to me! Sadly my mom passed away when I was 16 so I’ve never really been able to shop for her and get her anything, but I look forward to spending time with my kids on Mother’s Day and all their help they give around the house!

  4. I’ve always love the idea of breakfast in bed. Maybe I need to drop more hints in the house. I normally make breakfast in our home but they could totally handle it for one day.

  5. I think I like the whole breakfast in bed idea. I have done it for my husband in the past so maybe I will leave a large clue for what I want him to do for me LOL.

  6. I am not a Mom but can see how these would be great gifts to give or receive on this special day! Love that they are low cost!

  7. I would love to receive all of these ideas on Mother’s Day, for now I am going to sit and enjoy the kid free weekend to recoup and relax!

  8. These are all such great ideas. My thing is, I think that it’s all about the thought. If it is thoughtful, it doesn’t matter the price tag.

  9. Hi Jenn,

Those are some great ideas! It is all about the meaning of Mother’s Day not how expensive the gift will be. Manicure and pedicure at home is a great and cheap idea as well!

  10. I love these gift ieas! I know I would be excited if my kids did any of these for me for Mother’s day.

  11. I’m a stepmom, so just my husband really acknowledges me on this day…I’d be all over that new book! 🙂 And the wine, too haha. I wouldn’t turn down a good bottle. 😉

  12. Bonnie @wemake7 says:

These are really nice ideas. We usually plant our seedlings and get our garden ready for Mother’s Day.

  13. These are all great ideas! Can’t wait to celebrate Mother’s Day

  14. My mom would LOVE a new book as would I. This is a great list and you’ve pointed out some things I haven’t thought about that she would also love for Mother’s Day.

  15. These are great Mother’s Day gifts! I bought my mom a few bottles of wine as per her request.

  16. These are great gift ideas and I would love a nice breakfast in bed but don’t want to have to clean up after everyone after. So I will settle for a day that is just like the others.

  17. These are all such great ways to show the moms in your life how much you appreciate them. For me, it’s not how expensive the gift is–it is the thought behind it.
