Take Control with the 2017 Mazda CX-5, Zoom Zoom! #DrivingMatters @MazdaUSA #ad

I recently spent a week driving the 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring is a fresh newly updated model, while a lot of the cabin design is carried over from last year’s model (premium cloth seats, heated and powered seats, push button start), the exterior features a slightly more bold look, such as it’s sleeker front-end, grill and headlights.

When it comes to reviewing new cars, it’s no secret that Mazda has been a favorite of mine. They have shown great performance over the years and seem to handle just about anything I put them through without any signs of struggle. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is no exception. It’s also packed with all of my favorite features. Features that not only make driving more enjoyable, but that also help me to stay focused on the road. Features like bluetooth hands-free phone and streaming. A nice size rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring system with rear/cross traffic alerts. A favorite feature of mine, and also my main passenger (teenage daughter) is the multi-function commander control that sits in the middle of the front seats. It’s easy to use, easy to grip and control the fun 7″ full-color display.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 may look sporty, but don’t let it fool you, the hatch is surprisingly roomy. Perfect amount of space for everyday tasks or even a short camping trip. The keyless and hand fob have been a nice feature for entry, but the easy to use hatch adds even more convenience. Being only five foot tall, this is a must for my next vehicle.

The Mazda CX-5 includes the best in safety features. Such as, advanced front air bags, side impact air bags, side impact air curtains. E911 automatic emergency notifications. Updated seat belt design.

Four cylinders, six speed automatic transmission, available in AWD, or FWD, the 2017 Mazda CX-5 averages 26/35 (city/highway) MPG.

I drive twenty-four miles each way, including two freeways to and from my office every weekday, and was able to drive this vehicle all week without stopping for gas. That also included several trips to the store, to and from my daughters school and to visit family a few cities over. That’s pretty impressive. It’s no surprise the Mazda CX-5 was voted 2016 “Best Value Family Car”.

Mazda’s 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring is a fun, and comfortable vehicle to drive. The updated design is slick, and modern. It features the best in safety and tech features, which allow me to leave the house worry free, and in full control. I really enjoyed my week with this car, it definitely raises the standards for new vehicle shopping.

  1. I have heard really great things about the Mazda CX-5. I often see them on the road and I always think how great they look. My sister used to own a Mazda3 and she loved it.

  2. I really love the looks of this vehicle. It looks functional, even for a family like mine. I really love that it was the Best Value Family Car in 2016. I always look for those ratings.

  3. This looks like a great family car! I love all of the features they’ve managed to pack in, and the new body style is gorgeous. Soinds like it’s really good on gas too. With all the local driving we do that’s really important to me. Thanks for such a detailed look!

Very pretty car, and looks like it has a lot of features too which is nice. I haven’t ever driven a Mazda but it would be something to consider.

  5. This is so awesome. I would have LOVED a test drive as this vehicle as I’m currently car shopping and the Mazda CX-5 is on my short list. Thanks for your point of view on it. I found your feedback helpful.

I’m never driven a Mazda. Looks and sounds like a great car!

  7. I love how cool and a bit sporty this car is. It’s one of my choices actually when I was selecting for a brand new car just recently. Mazda CX5 is ideal also for family use and especially travels because it’s spacious inside.

  8. Looks like a great car! Hmmmmn… something to think about. 🙂

  9. This post is bittersweet for me! 11 years ago I purchased my first car and had my heart set on a Mazda…but I didn’t get one! I regret that decision all the time!!

  10. Oh, I love that color. It seems like there isn’t many color choices, lately. I just bought a new van and felt very limited on color options and just ended up with silver. I’ve already had a silver van before…

  11. That is such a great looking car. I desperately need a new one soon, my poor car is 15 years old and on its last leg. I love the roomy hatch, no more cramming things into a trunk and having to fit overflow into the back seats! I really love the backup camera, too. I get skitzy when backing up out of parking lots to the point that I’ll park way back so I can pull through and avoid it entirely, so that would be so helpful for me.

  12. What a beautiful car! I am impressed that you were able to drive as much as you did without having to stop for gas! I love the back up camera and all of the additional features that this vehicle has. Definitely a great family vehicle!

  16. The Mazda CX-5 is absolutely one of my favorites! We tested out the 2016 Grand touring in red and it is by far one of my favorite cars. They have impeccable safety features that made me feel safe with the kids in the car. Being 5’0 also it is the perfect size for us. Great vehicle for sure, I recommend to everyone.
