A Look @ Marvel’s Inhumans #Inhumans

The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.

My family is really looking forward to this series. We are such Marvel Geeks in our house. Bonus- this series features one of my favorite television actors, Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) as as the lead, Black Bolt. As happy as I am to see Anson Mount return to the screen, I’m not yet totally convinced he is a good fit for this role. Marvel has a history of surprising me with brilliant casting, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed.

Fans like us will be experiencing Marvel’s Inhumans as early as September 1st at an IMAX theater, as the first-of-its-kind multi-platform production, distribution and marketing agreement between Disney|ABC Television, Marvel Television and IMAX Corp.

“IMAX Corp. (NYSE: IMAX), Marvel Television, a unit of Marvel Entertainment, and Disney|ABC Television Group recently announced an innovative agreement to exclusively premiere the new ABC series “Marvel’s The Inhumans” in IMAX commercial theatres, marking the first time a live-action television series has debuted in this manner.

Under the agreement, a version of the first two episodes of Marvel Television’s new series “Marvel’s The Inhumans”–produced in conjunction with ABC Studios and filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras–will run worldwide exclusively in IMAX for two weeks at the beginning of September 2017. ABC plans to then premiere the weekly series in fall, with additional exclusive content that can only be seen on the network.

ABC, IMAX and Marvel Television also intend to work together to create a joint marketing and promotion plan for the series across their proprietary media platforms–which would be the first such cross-platform marketing launch of a television series. Today’s agreement also marks IMAX’s first time as a financing participant in a TV pilot and series.”

“This first-of-its-kind multi-platform production, distribution and marketing agreement brings together Marvel Television’s unique brand of entertainment, ABC’s unparalleled audience and IMAX’s brand and global fanboy demographic,” said IMAX CEO, Rich Gelfond. “It also takes our decades-long relationship with The Walt Disney Company to a whole new level, jointly breaking new ground in the industry. We are confident our exhibition partners will be excited to work with us on this innovative launch of a series across the IMAX network.”

  1. I cannot wait to see Marvel Inhumans. I fell in love with the Marvel characters a few years ago and I cant wait to see how they introduce these new characters and take them to a new level. That’s the one thing I have always found with Marvel, they always outdo themselves with their storylines.

  2. Melanie says:

That is interesting how they are doing the early showing in the movie theater and then the series on TV. Is this common? I do not follow many shows like this so I am not sure. It looks like a series my husband would like.

  3. Great! Another Marvel movie I need to see! I watched the trailer for Inhumans and I’ve got to say, Marvel never disappoints! I’ll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for sharing.

WHAT! I’m so excited! I’ve never heard of this, but I LOVE the Marvel Universe. I shrieked when I saw the actor who brilliantly played Ramsey Bolton would be in the series. Also, did anyone else get a Starfire vibe with the Queen’s look? After seeing this, I went to Youtube to check out a “Meet the Family” video to find out more.

  5. We are all over this and can’t wait to see it. I just invested in a Marvel dictionary book for my youngest where they have all the Marvel Characters listed. I look forward to see how this movie will play out, I sure hope they don’t disappoint us.

  6. My husband and I were just talking about this. we cannot wait to meet these Marvel Inhumans!! Love all of the Marvel characters so we know this will be great. Looking forward to a date night to see this.

  7. I haven’t seen Inhumans, but this seems to be a great watch! I don’t know too much about Marvel comics, but I did enjoy Luke Cage on Netflix, and I look forward to watching Black Panther when its released next year!

  8. I heard about this one in passing, but haven’t really delved into it yet. It looks like another great movie in the Marvel franchise! I have always loved movies based on comic books super heroes, even though I’ve never really been into comic books themselves (except for a few really odd ones when I was younger). I bet my son would love to see this one with me!

  9. I haven’t seen this but it looks so interesting! I love Marvel so I think I would like this. My hubby would as well. I’ll have to check it out soon, thanks for sharing, I always love new tv shows!

  10. Ali Rost says:

I will admit that I like the Marvel and other comic-inspired movies. But I have such a hard time keeping the various story lines straight! How die hard of a fan do you need to be to do so?
