Free Admission @ Cedar Point for Military This Weekend

It’s no secret that Cedar Point is one of my favorite places on earth. Just when I thought I couldn’t love Cedar Point anymore, they go and send me the nice information below.

I hope that military families will take advantage of this free admission opportunity, and have a great time experience Cedar Point. It really is fun for everyone.

This Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, Cedar Point is paying a special tribute to men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces with free admission for all active, retired and honorably-discharged members of the military with valid ID. Additional tickets for immediate family members may be purchased at the gate.

This holiday weekend, families can also cool off at Soak City Waterpark, which opens for the season this Saturday, or enjoy Picnic at the Point, an all-you-can eat buffet from 4-6 p.m. Sunday and Monday in Cedar Point’s Coral Courtyard. Tickets may be purchased online at any admissions booth.

In the spirit of honoring those who serve, off-duty members of the U.S. Coast Guard who are traveling across the country in an electric golf cart to support the Wounded Warrior Project made a stop at Cedar Point this week, marking Day 22 of their 28-day journey. Known as GO CARTS: Guardsmen Carting Across the States, their efforts have attracted nationwide attention since they departed from Petaluma, Calif., in April with plans to arrive back at their base at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center in Yorktown, Va., this Sunday. Their goal is to raise $50,000 for injured men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Cedar Point Is NOW Open! #GateKeeper

Cedar Point is open for the season with its new roller coaster, GateKeeper!

Oh, that looks like fun! Cedar Point coasters have yet to disappoint me.

Living in Michigan, I’ve been enjoying trips to Cedar Point for as long as I can remember. I have a lot of fun memories of being there as a kid, and over the past two decades have created some even better memories with my girls. Even though, we couldn’t make it to opening day this year, I’m sure there is a trip to Sandusky in our near future. We always have a great time at Cedar Point.

Cedar Point:
SANDUSKY, Ohio – An awesome new roller coaster adventure awaits visitors to Cedar Point Amusement Park in 2013, beginning Saturday, May 11. A $30 million project, GateKeeper, will set seven world records, including the longest track length (4,164 feet), tallest drop (164 feet) and most inversions (six) of any wing roller coaster in the world. Other features include a 170-foot high lift followed by a sharp, 90-degree turn and 164-foot drop, six inversions, a series of hills, and soaring through two massive keyhole towers that guard the park’s new main entrance at speeds approaching 70 miles per hour. Cedar Point’s newest thrill ride adds to the park’s already impressive collection of world-class roller coasters, which includes Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Magnum XL-200, Raptor, Maverick, Wicked Twister, Mantis, Iron Dragon, Gemini, Blue Streak, Mean, Streak, Corkscrew, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Jr. Gemini and Woodstock Express. Cedar Point will be open daily beginning Saturday through Labor Day, September 2. Discount tickets are available online at CedarPoint.com.

Because Today Is A Great Day For Anytime Costumes!

AnytimeCostumes.com is a year-round source for any party or costume needs. They offer a range of infant, children, teen, adult, and couples costumes; even pet and mascot costumes. They also have a large selection of hats, wigs, masks, make-up, accessories and props. Anything you might need to create a fun and playful experience for any event.

I recently received a TinkerBell costume from AnytimeCostumes.com for my granddaughter (photoed). Becca is a big fan of TinkerBell, and goodness knows – the girl never needs a reason to play dress-up. Over the winter, I bet she changed her cloths three times a day while playing inside. Dressing-up is definitely one of her favorite things to do. And, when you look this cute while doing it, why the heck not!?

Becca has been wearing her Tinkerbell costume while playing in her room, while eating breakfast and lunch, and of course while watching her favorite TinkerBell movies. She loves it.

The costume it’s self is a little snug. Though this doesn’t seem to bother her, I feel I should point out that compared to the size chart, I believe it runs small. The wings also could have been made a little better, they fall off her back sometimes while she is just walking around the house. Being held on with velcro, I’m planning to reinforce them with a little thread. Given both of these issues, Becca is still very happy with her costume, and continues to wear it whenever she can.

I also should mention how surprised I am by these issues, as I’ve heard nothing but great reviews and comments about AnytimeCostumes.com. This very well could be one of those things where, we just picked the wrong item.

Seven things I’ve done over the past seven days.

1. Bought two items on eBay.
2. Was not happy with how one of my favorite shows ended their season.

3. Started spring cleaning.
4. Donated a trunk load of items, and have more to go.
5. Turned another year older. Sigh, they just keep on coming.
6. Enjoyed Star Wars Day & Free Comic Book Day with my girls. My older daughter is a big Star Wars fan, my younger a big comic book nerd. It was a fun day!
7. Let our thirteen year old daughter invite ten friends over to hang out around the fire pit. They’re good kids, so it went much better than it sounds.
