7 Things on Sunday

Seven things I’ve done over the past seven days.

Aunt10549845_342202289268797_1674707069_n

1. Spent a nice evening visiting with my Aunt and her dog, Jasmine
2. Shopped with gift cards and bought a new camping table and inflatable mattress.
3. Watched Rob the Mob and really liked it.
4. Enjoyed birthday cake with our granddaughter. She turned seven.
5. Had six teenagers sleepover the night before driving them to and from Van’s Warped Tour.
6. Had three of them sleepover after the concert.
7. Had two of them sleepover the next night. It’s been a full house for three days.

BubbleBum inflatable car booster seat review

With a new grand baby on the way (any day now), this grandma is not looking forward to lugging around two separate car seats when the kids come to visit. Just in-time to save me from breaking my back, I received the new BubbleBum Inflatable Car Booster Seat to review.

bubblebum_photo78558

Meets all US safety testing standards. BubbleBum, the cost effective, portable, lightweight, brightly colored, inflatable car booster seat for children aged between 4-11, easily deflates and folds flat so that kids or mom and dad can carry it in a backpack or purse, making it perfect for vacations, rental cars, taxis, school pick up or car pooling. Takes less than 20 seconds to inflate by mouth!

As you can see the BubbleBum is so lightweight that Becca has no problems carrying it on her own, leaving my hands (and back) free to carry the new infant car seat, or whatever else we need to carry that day.

This product could not be easier to use. The well designed clips make it easy to strap Becca in place and keep her there in comfort. Unlike the previous booster seat that I had purchase and really struggled with.

Not just a car seat, Becca loves her BubbleBum, using it as a booster seat at our table and even a few times while sitting on the floor to watch television. It is pretty soft. I love that it’s so lightweight and easy to carry, she loves it’s fun colorful design, and the fact that it belongs to her. Knowing all of this, and knowing that it helps keep her safe while riding in the car makes the BubbleBum a real win in our house.

The BubbleBum is available in four fun colors, and comes complete with a carrying case, and added belt positioning clip for extra comfort. Winner of several child safety awards the BubbleBum is available in select retailers and online. FED UP, Now in Theaters & A $50 Whole Foods giveaway #FedUpMovie

FED UP – The film the food industry doesn’t want you to see, is now in theaters.

FEDUP-Poster1

For the past 30 years, everything we thought we knew about food and exercise is dead wrong. FED UP is the film the food industry doesn’t want you to see. From Katie Couric, Laurie David (Oscar winning producer of AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) and director Stephanie Soechtig, FED UP will change the way you eat forever.

Reading and hearing more about FED Up, I’m shocked at how undereducated I am when it comes to making healthy food choices for my family. I’m really looking forward to seeing the entire film, and learning more. As a parent, I feel it’s my job to educate myself and to take charge of our diets.

Synposis of Fed Up
In 1977, the U.S. Government issued the McGovern Report, its first ever dietary guidelines and with it, one of the greatest health epidemics of our time ensued. In her documentary feature debut, executive producer and narrator Katie Couric joins Laurie David (AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH), Regina Scully (THE INVISIBLE WAR) and director Stephanie Soechtig (TAPPED) to explore why, despite media attention and government policies to combat obesity, generations of kids will now live shorter lives than their parents.

Upending the conventional wisdom of why we gain weight and how to lose it, FED UP unearths the dirty little secret your favorite brands/restaurants don’t want you to know – far more of us get sick from what we eat than anyone ever realized and this is in large part due to the fact that 80% of the 600,000 items sold in grocery stores have added sugar.

Following a group of families – the children of whom are the hardest hit demo because unbeknownst to them or their parents, they’re being force fed food with added sugar – for more than two years, Soechtig achieves a profound intimacy as they document their uphill battles to follow the conventional wisdom of ‘diet and exercise’, in order to live healthier, fuller lives. In captivating interviews with the country’s leading experts, FED UP lays bare a decades-long misinformation campaign orchestrated by Big Food and aided and abetted by the U.S. Government.

FedUp-Fact7

Scary, isn’t it? I’ve heard the film is really well done and there are a lot of striking facts and hot topics to touch on. I hope people will go it see, and discuss it.

The Fed Up Challenge

On May 12, join the #FedUpMovie team in going sugar free for 10 days. It won’t be easy, but together we can take the first steps in fighting the biggest public health crisis of our time. Take the pledge » http://fedupmovie.com/fedupchallenge.
