wild_movie_poster

With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed (Reese Witherspoon) has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behavior, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone. WILD powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddens, strengthens, and ultimately heals her.

Trailer Park Tuesday, Benicio del Toro as Pablo Escobar in Paradise Lost

paradise-lost-movie_poster

Young surfer Nick (Hutcherson) thinks all his dreams have come true when he goes to visit his brother in Colombia. Against an idyllic backdrop of blue lagoons and white beaches he falls madly in love with a beautiful Colombian girl called Maria (Traisac). It all seems perfect until he meets her uncle, one Pablo Escobar (del Toro).

I’ve been waiting to see footage of this film for what feels like forever! If you know me offline, or have been reading my blog for any real amount of time, then you know Benicio del Toro is my very favorite actor, and has been for over a decade. One might say I’m a tad-bit obsessed. I guess I can live with that. Anyway this teaser looks amazing. The shot where Benicio is giving the look – you “the look” it gives me chills already. I am so looking forward to seeing this movie on the big screen!

Trailer Park Tuesday #Boyhood

boyhood_movieposter

Filmed over 12 years with the same cast, Richard Linklater’s BOYHOOD is a groundbreaking story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason (a breakthrough performance by Ellar Coltrane), who literally grows up on screen before our eyes. Starring Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as Mason’s parents and newcomer Lorelei Linklater as his sister Samantha, BOYHOOD charts the rocky terrain of childhood like no other film has before. Snapshots of adolescence from road trips and family dinners to birthdays and graduations and all the moments in between become transcendent, set to a soundtrack spanning the years from Coldplay’s Yellow to Arcade Fire’s Deep Blue. BOYHOOD is both a nostalgic time capsule of the recent past and an ode to growing up and parenting. It’s impossible not to watch Mason and his family without thinking about our own journey.

Directer: Richard Linklater

Cast: Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette, Elijah Smith

In theaters: July 11, 2014.

This is such an amazing concept to me. I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie. Oh, and I’ll be needing this soundtrack too.

How about you? Any thoughts on Boyhood?
