Focus World’s new comedy WALK OF SHAME with Elizabeth Banks & James Marsden was released in select theaters and same day video on demand on Friday, May 2nd. I had the pleasure of hosting a fun “girls night” in viewing party at my place. I invited a few of my closest friends. We ordered in from our favorite local restaurant, and I put together a variety of drinks, snacks and treats. Yellow was a fun theme of the night on and off line, as we tweeted along with the movie’s star Elizabeth Banks.
I’m a big fan of video on-demand! I love using Amazon, iTunes, and M-Go to watch movies. It’s so easy and the picture quality is amazing on our living-room HD TV. This time we chose to use M-Go.
In the movie, Elizabeth Banks stars as Meghan Miles, a self-professed “good girl” who begins the story happy, and up for a big promotion as network news anchor. Unfortunately, her fiancé breaks up with her and the promotion goes to someone else. Helping to get her up off the couch, her friends talk her into a revealing yellow dress and they head out to the bar. Meghan ends up drunk and having a one night stand with a cute bartender, Gordon (James Marsden).
Early the next morning – Meghan’s luck begins to turn around, as she gets a voice-mail from her producer saying questionable online photos were discovered of the anchor they began to promote, putting Megan inline for the job. Right after getting this news, however, she manages to lock herself out of Gordon’s apartment and discovers that her purse is in her car – which has just been towed away. With the clock ticking, Meghan still in last night’s revealing yellow dress, with no money and no phone must find a way to get to the news station before her chance at her dream job disappears.
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of strong female lead comedies. Tina Fey, Melissa McCarthy, Sandra Bullock, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and now Elizabeth Banks are bringing the funny into what once was a boys club, and they’re doing it like nobody’s business! I for one, am LOVING it.
Walk of Shame had us laughing from the opening credits. The story is filled with plenty of moments most of us can identify with, and now laugh at.

All four of us had a great time Friday night. Thankfully all four of our significant others passed the movies “douche test”, and two of my guests went home with an autographed movie posted from Elizabeth Banks. We all agree the movie is hilarious, and better than we expected from watching the trailer. Though the movie features plenty of humor for everyone, I feel some of the situations Meghan finds herself in qualifies it as a chick-flick. So, see it with your girlfriends, make a night of it. You wont be sorry.
My husband said he heard us laughing from all the way outside, I have a feeling it was during the scene photoed below. Scrilla , Pookie with two o’s, and Hulk definitely had some of my favorite lines in the movie.
Get social with Walk of Shame and Elizabeth!
