I have never seen myself as the mini van type. To be honest, I really enjoy driving smaller, zippy cars. It’s what I am use to. Though to be fair – there are mini vans, and then there are cool vans with a lot of storage and a long list of really nice features. With that being said, I recently had the opportunity to test drive the 2016 Kia Sedona SXL for an entire week. I’m not saying that I am ready to give up my Grand Prix for a mini van just yet, but this vehicle definitely changed my views on driving one.
We put the 2016 Kia Sedona SXL to the ultimate test, a family camping trip. By family, I mean two adults, one basset hound, and three teenagers. I was shocked at how much stuff we were able to fit in the back of this van.
Our campground is over a five hour drive, so comfort and space are both a real priority. The 2016 Kia Sedona SXL did not disappoint.

Sporting Kia’s usual good looks and quality, I really enjoyed driving 2016 Kia Sedona SXL. Where it lacks the pick-up and power that I am use to, the van gains in space and comfort. The drivers seat is crazy comfortable. The gas mileage seemed to be pretty good. We averaged around 23 mpg on the highway. The long list of safety and tech features are a win! If we were a larger family with younger children, I could easily see us owning this mini van.
