I must have driven past Rosie O’ Grady’s a dozen times or more since they opened. Thanks to surfing Restaurant.com, my family now has a new place to gather for some laughs and really good food.
It was a beautiful evening, so we opted to sit outside. They have a rather large outdoor seating area with a covered, and lit patio, a tv, and a separate bar. The nice seating around a couple of fire-pits really help to create a relaxing, and trendy atmosphere. The perfect place for a date night, or an evening out with friends.
The inside is just as nice, featuring a rustic decor, plenty of tables, and a lot of tvs. Enough tvs to keep any sports fan happy. There is a huge stuffed bear near the bar. I’m not sure how I feel about that personally, but I guess it doesn’t seem too out of place with the decor. I really like the size of the restaurant, it can easily accommodate small and large groups.
Let’s talk food!
We took three teenagers with us. Two of them are vegan. We started with two appetizers – chips and salsa, and Parmesan pretzel bites. Both were very good. The vegan’s (as I often refer to our daughter & her boyfriend) ordered a customized thin crust pizza, with a ton of vegetable toppings, marinara sauce and no cheese. They LOVED it. My husband and our nephew both ordered Rosie O’ Grady’s Millionaire’s Burger, a burger featuring, a huge patty, topped with a fried egg, millionaire’s bacon, cheddar, greens, tomato, onion and garlic aioli. They looked amazing. I decided on one of their Hometown Favorites – Fried Shrimp Dinner, with sweet potato Fries, and coleslaw. It was honestly some of the best fried shrimp I have tasted anywhere in our area. All five of us were very happy with our meal. We will definitely be back.
This is what happens when I hand over my phone and ask the teenagers to take photos for my blog post. They are crazy! Yet, so funny. I love them so much. I can’t believe how much we laugh when we are all together. We really had a great time. Rosie O’ Grady’s is the perfect atmosphere for our family.
Nightlife – those looking for a bar atmosphere will find it at Rosie O’ Grady’s after 10pm. I’ve heard the DJ is fabulous, the dance floor gets busy, and the drink specials are great.
Kids Eat Free Thursdays! Kids dine with a fun kids character each week. Purchase of an Adult Entrée is required. You can check their website for other daily specials.
Rosie O’ Grady’s has several Michigan locations.
The one we visited is located at 14980 Dix Toledo Rd, Southgate, MI 48195.

Your food sounds so yummy and I would love to eat at this cool place because I love this type of food.
Is this the Ferndale location or is there another one?
Yes, there are a few of them. This one is located in Southgate.
This sounds like a great family restaurant, and those food descriptions have me so hungry, I rushed out without breakfast, those burgers and the veggie pizza have me wanting to try these, I wish they could come to our area! Nice setting, too, I would want to go back again and again, also!
This really does sound like a great place to eat and the pictures of the food definitely made me hungry. Thank you for sharing.
Stephanie and I checked that place out a few weeks ago. Our food was good, but the place was smelly the day we went in. They said they had been slammed the day before. I would love to go again and try sitting outside. This restaurant is a favorite of a few of my friends.
Crystal, there are several locations, we were downriver in Southgate .
This sounds like an awesome restaruant.
