Attention Detroit area family music lovers! The daylong Recess! Family Music Festival is coming to Meadow Brook on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event will feature The Laurie Berkner Band, Dan Zanes & Friends, Ralph’s World and The Verve Pipe with Candy Band and School of Rock. A great festive day your family will not want to miss!
Also, in addition to other performers and deejays, games, interactive activities, storytelling, and fun workshops.
Born from the creator of Kidzapalooza, the inaugural Recess Family Music Festival is also the first collaboration between Recess creator Tor Hyams and Palace Sports & Entertainment.
“Music is the most powerful language in the world and we want children and their families to enjoy and explore that at the Recess Festival,” said Hyams, co-founder of Kidzapalooza and producer of The Kiddie Limits stage for Austin City Limits. “There’s integrity to music that helps children discover themselves.”
The festival is designed to actively engage the imaginations of children, ranging in age from 4-9, and their parents where families can visit various creative spaces on the Meadow Brook grounds to write and record a song, take a dance class, do arts and crafts or get a “rock star” makeover.
