I recently spent a week driving the 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring is a fresh newly updated model, while a lot of the cabin design is carried over from last year’s model (premium cloth seats, heated and powered seats, push button start), the exterior features a slightly more bold look, such as it’s sleeker front-end, grill and headlights.
When it comes to reviewing new cars, it’s no secret that Mazda has been a favorite of mine. They have shown great performance over the years and seem to handle just about anything I put them through without any signs of struggle. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is no exception. It’s also packed with all of my favorite features. Features that not only make driving more enjoyable, but that also help me to stay focused on the road. Features like bluetooth hands-free phone and streaming. A nice size rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring system with rear/cross traffic alerts. A favorite feature of mine, and also my main passenger (teenage daughter) is the multi-function commander control that sits in the middle of the front seats. It’s easy to use, easy to grip and control the fun 7″ full-color display.
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 may look sporty, but don’t let it fool you, the hatch is surprisingly roomy. Perfect amount of space for everyday tasks or even a short camping trip. The keyless and hand fob have been a nice feature for entry, but the easy to use hatch adds even more convenience. Being only five foot tall, this is a must for my next vehicle.
The Mazda CX-5 includes the best in safety features. Such as, advanced front air bags, side impact air bags, side impact air curtains. E911 automatic emergency notifications. Updated seat belt design.
Four cylinders, six speed automatic transmission, available in AWD, or FWD, the 2017 Mazda CX-5 averages 26/35 (city/highway) MPG.
I drive twenty-four miles each way, including two freeways to and from my office every weekday, and was able to drive this vehicle all week without stopping for gas. That also included several trips to the store, to and from my daughters school and to visit family a few cities over. That’s pretty impressive. It’s no surprise the Mazda CX-5 was voted 2016 “Best Value Family Car”.
Mazda’s 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring is a fun, and comfortable vehicle to drive. The updated design is slick, and modern. It features the best in safety and tech features, which allow me to leave the house worry free, and in full control. I really enjoyed my week with this car, it definitely raises the standards for new vehicle shopping.
