“Thor:The Dark World” lit up Hollywood for it’s premiere at the El Capitan and I had the honor of attending!
Looking over these photos, I still find it hard to believe I was really there, seeing and even mingling with several celebrities. The whole experience has been a bit surreal.
When Marvel does something, it would appear they do it BIG, because this red carpet event was really something! Every where I looked, I saw something amazing happening. The night was filled with exciting moments and lot’s of Hollywood glamor.
We were hustled and bustled down the red carpet as a few of the stars (Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Zachary Levi) spent time posing for photos, signing autographs and chatting with the media as well as fans. At one point someone tripped in our line that ended with my elbow landing right in the middle of Chris Hemsworth’s back. Not that he even flinched. After all he is Thor!
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. To defeat an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor sets upon his most dangerous and personal journey yet, forced into an alliance with the treacherous Loki to save not only his people and those he loves…but our universe itself.
Staring: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, p.g.a., from a story by Don Payne and Robert Rodat and screenplay by Christopher L. Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor.
Ten quick thoughts on the movie!
1. Hard to believe the movie is over two hours long. It moves really fast.
2. Renee Russo (Frigga) is one really cool mom!
3. There is a lot of action and humor in this movie, and it’s all done very well.
4. Jaimie Alexander can kick butt, and ride a horse. Well, kind of.
5. There is a major twist in the story that I didn’t see coming.
6. The 3D is good, but not necessary to enjoy the movie.
7. Watch for a couple of really fun cameos.
8. Kat Dennings is on her A game, and delivers some great lines.
9. There is an awesome lead-in to Marvel’s next new adventure!
10. Make sure you stay for not only one scene during the credits, but two.
This movie is very well made in my opinion. Each actor bringing an even better performance than in the first installment. Zachary Levi does a fine job, and is almost unrecognizable, taking over the role of Fandral. Chris Hemsworth, and Natalie Portman’s display of chemistry is dead on! But, it’s Loki, Loki, Loki that makes the film stand out. Bravo to the entire cast and behind the camera crew for a job well done! Thor: The Dark World is one wild, and fun ride. I’m already looking forward to experiencing it again with my husband and daughter.
Thor: The Dark World is in theaters nationwide today (11/8)!
Watch for interviews with Zachary Levi, Jaimie Alexander and Tom Hiddleston to be posted here soon!
I am working with Disney, Marvel, and Dreamworks as part of this event. They provided me with travel, food and lodging in exchange for my coverage. All opinions expressed are still honest and my own.
