top mate finishing sauce

About Top Mates Aussie:
Way, way back (in 2005), down under in Australia, a company was created to bring the first ever “Top” quality food partner for BBQ and other great meals with friends. Before this, only those boring old sauces and tired old relishes, chutneys and artificial jellies existed. The company, Top Mates (branded as Spoonfed Foods in Australia), became a quick success in Australia. In fact, they were so successful that company after company tried to copy them. However, only Top Mates can claim… the original & the best!

I recently received the above three Aussie Finishing Sauces from Top Mates to review. Though they have suggested pairing on each label, I decided to have some fun and mix it up a little. And, I am sure glad I did. The outcome was fantastic.

Try this delicious meatball recipe featuring Top Mates Caramelized Garlic Aussie Finishing Sauce.

Ingredients:
1 cup olive oil
1 pound gr beef
1/2 pound gr pork
1/2 pound gr veal
1 egg
2 cups Italian bread crumbs
1/2 cup freshly grated Romano cheese
2 table spoons of Italian seasoning
1/2 cup of warm water
salt & pepper
1 jar of Top Mates Caramelized Garlic Finishing Sauce

Directions:
Combine beef, veal, and pork in a large bowl. Add egg, cheese, Italian seasoning, and a little salt and pepper.
Blend bread crumbs into meat mixture. Slowly add the water.
Shape into meatballs.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Fry meatballs in batches. Brown meatballs until no longer pink in center. Remove from heat and drain on a paper towel.
Heat oven to 300 degrees. Roll meatballs in Top Mates Aussie Caramelized Garlic Sauce, and place on a cookie sheet. Bake for five to ten minutes.

I served these meatballs over pasta with a side of bread. I feel the need to mention, this sauce is very, very heavy on garlic. If your family enjoys a lot of garlic, like we do – OMG, this sauce is BOSS! It was a huge hit with my family. Also makes a delicious pairing with pork chops.

We also tried Top Mate’s Savory Cherry Aussie Finishing Sauce. For this one we pulled out the grill! I prepped a beautiful turkey breast, marinated it in a little rosemary, parsley, and garlic over night. The next day it was grilled to perfection by my husband. Sliced, and topped with the finishing sauce. It was heavenly! The Savory Cherry Aussie Sauce is sweet without being over powering. It adds a nice flavor without hiding the seasonings or the hickory taste of the grill. Another big hit with my family. In-fact we already have plans to make this one again with remainder of of the sauce.

I’m not a big fan of spicy, but I’m betting Top Mates Chipotle & Onion Aussie Sauce is just as tasty and delicious as the two I just reviewed. I’ll be leaving that one for my husband to try.

These sound quite intriguing, especially the Savory Cherry. I could find tons of things to use the Caramelized Garlic in, no problem.

Sounds like an amazing brand, not heard of them before but would like to try. Word of mouth recommendations are always better I think.

YUM! I love chutneys. I wonder how that cherry would go with a nice meat and cheese plate? I’m making myself hungry now LOL. Your meatball recipe looks really good, too. I could eat five of them all by myself, I bet!

These look fantastic as additions to any meal-although I’d have to pass on the garlic. I cannot digest garlic, and I’m quite possibly the ONLY Italian who doesn’t eat garlic.

I am a big fan of garlic and use it in almost everything I cook. I would love to try the Caramelized Garlic in a few different dishes for my family to try out. It looks so good and I had never heard of it before now but I have to try this one out!

Wow! Those flavor combinations sound so seriously delicious! I’m not sure which one I’d want to try first. I am a huge fan of garlic, so maybe that one. However, my husband likes spice so maybe the Chipotle & Onion.
