I wonder if Old Navy had any idea what they were stirring up when filming a couple of retro back-to-school commercials that feature Jason Priestly, Gabrielle Carteris, Jennie Garth and Luke Perry in a ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ type setting.
“Back-to-school? More like back to ’90s teen soap heaven! Old Navy has staged an epic Beverly Hills, 90210 reunion in their latest back-to-school campaign, recruiting Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Luke Perry and Gabrielle Carteris as teachers at Old Navy Funnovations High.”
I, for one fell all middle-aged fan girl in-love the second I saw them! And now, just like that – my Beverly Hills 90210 Breakfast in-bed on SoapNet each weekend is simply not enough… I want more! More info, more pics, more anything…
Then this photo hit the web, and the rumors started to fly!
“Jennie Garth and Luke Perry confirmed couple! Jennie Garth and Luke Perry together in real life relationship after 20 years! Jennie Garth and Luke Perry fall in-love while filming Old Navy commercial!”
I have to admit, even though in my opinion, I think Kelly would have ended up with Brandon, had he not left the zip-code, the thought of Jennie Garth and Luke Perry becoming a couple off screen after all of these years makes me totally giddy.
After doing some creditable searching for information this morning, I’m a little bummed to report that Jennie Garth and Luke Perry aren’t actually dating in real life, but there is some good news for all us “Beverly Hills, 90210” fans who want to see more of the couple – Jennie Garth and Luke Perry are currently collaborating on a potential new sitcom.
Word has it that the former costars are creating a comedy that will “play up their chemistry,” according to an insider.
Garth’s rep confirmed the project, saying, “They have been spending a lot of time together recently because the two are working on developing a TV sitcom together. It will be a multi-camera half hour show, currently we have producers and writers and are meeting with networks.”
Jennie Garth also stared for four years as Valerie Tyler in the fun series “What I Like About You”. One I shared love for with my tween-age daughter.
Perry hasn’t been just hanging ten on beach either. He’s is no stranger to producing television – for example he recently created his own Hallmark movie franchise that started with “Goodnight for Justice,” which was directed by another former “90210 Original”, Jason Priestley.
I’ll be waiting to see what the two of them come up with. I have a feeling it’s going to be a lot of fun.
